The cybertruck can keep the unique styling, look better, and be more functional with a simple change.
Seriously, just don’t make it a triangle. You can keep the angles and sharp edges but the silhouette is terrible and there’s a reason trucks all look pretty similar for 100 years or so, the formula works.
Plus rear headroom must be atrocious.

I bet they can’t do the open bed for aerodynamics reasons.

I figure that’s why they did it that way, but it still looks terrible

Hasn’t it been proven that a pickup truck with an open bed and a raised tailgate is actually not bad aerodynamically? Something about how the air trapped in the bed creates a vortex which creates smoother airflow over the top of the vehicle. I know it’s at least better than having the tailgate down or having a cover on the bed.

Not sure, but I’m pretty sure the teardrop form is going to be better overall.

That definitely does help the side profile. The front half is okay, but the back half...needs help.

Yea, but that’s assuming the bed starts at the belt line and not the roof. Still, no way of knowing one way or the other at this point

I would think the flat front would kill any advantage the teardrop shape would get you.

Only a tiny bit is flat. Certainly less than a normal truck. And of course teardrops are flatter on the front.

I’m referring to the complete lack of a smooth transition for air off of the windshield to the sides and top of this thing.

I’d be willing to bet that the final production model will look more like this

I don’t know what I was trying to do here but here ya go:
